Time
Every preview is one bar dry → two bars engaged → release and tail, rendered through the production engine with the preset’s canonical FX Library settings.Tape Stop
Brakes playback to a true stop (the rate reaches exactly zero) along an eased reel spin-down curve, with highs rolling off naturally as the speed drops so the dive sounds like tape rather than aliasing. The 500 ms release eases the running track back in after the slowdown. Listen for: After the dry bar, the loop pitch-dives down an accelerating spin-down into silence with the highs fading as it slows, then eases back up to speed in the final bar. Settings: Division1 Bar · Quantize Off · Wet 100%
Halftime
Captures the active division at trigger time and replays that phrase at half speed with Resync on, dropping everything an octave. Phrase wraps are crossfaded with click-free raised-cosine fades, and a speed-tracking low-pass keeps the slowdown sounding analog rather than stair-stepped. Listen for: After the dry bar, the groove drops to half speed and an octave down, heavier and stretched but still locked to the grid, then snaps back to full tempo in the final bar. Settings: Division1 Bar · Quantize Next Grid · Wet 100%
Vinyl Brake
A vinyl-style brake that stops all the way to silence like Tape Stop, but with a constant-torque turntable curve that dives more sharply into the stop. It defaults to a 1/4 division with a quick 80 ms release for release-FX-style cuts. Listen for: After the dry bar, the loop slams into a short, hard pitch-dive to silence (faster and more abrupt than a tape stop) and pops back almost instantly when released. Settings: Division1/4 · Quantize Off · Wet 100%
