The documented sample formats are:

• WAV
• AIFF
• AIFF-C
• MP3
• AAC
• M4A
• FLAC
• OGG
• ALAC
• CAF

What this means in practice

These are the safe formats for:

• browser preview
• pad assignment
• chop and trim workflows
• loop building
• pulling audio into a session without guessing whether it will behave correctly

Important distinction

This page is about source sample formats. Meiji Sampler can also write other file types during normal use:

• WAV for recordings and bounces
• MP4 for visualizer exports when enabled

If a file will not load

Check:

• the file is one of the supported formats
• the file is not corrupt
• the path is still valid

Then move to File And Project Problems if needed.
