# Splice Integration

> Search, preview, license, and load Splice sounds from Meiji Sampler.

# Splice integration

Meiji Sampler connects to Splice through Splice's MCP server. Sign in with your Splice account before searching.

## Search and preview

Open the Splice browser from source selection, sign in, then type a natural-language search such as `dark lo-fi guitar loop around 80 BPM`. Use `Space` to preview the selected result.

Most Splice MCP clients return links for preview audio. Meiji Sampler plays those links through its preview engine when the server includes them.

## License and load

Press `Enter` on a result to request the full-quality licensed download through Splice MCP. Downloads require a Splice Sounds+, Creator, or Creator+ subscription. New downloads use Splice credits. Re-downloads of the same sample are free according to Splice policy.

Licensed files are stored by Splice sample id in `~/Music/Meiji Sampler/splice/` on macOS and Windows, or `~/Meiji Sampler/splice/` on Linux when no audio directory is available. The same sound can be loaded again without requesting a new paid download.
